Students from the Pathlight Running Club and young adults from ARC's Social & Leisure Club participated in the “Walk For Autism” on 8 November 2014, Saturday. This was a walkathon organised by the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) Youthcare to raise awareness about autism among residents in Ang Mo Kio.
The flag-off for the walkathon took place at Pathlight Campus 1 with the Principal, Ms Linda Kho as the Guest-of-Honor. Special displays explaining about autism were held up by volunteers along the route to Teck Ghee Community Centre for participants of the walkathon, which included members of the public. Sharings about autism and their experiences were also done by Vice Principal, Ms Loy Sheau Mei and student Sean Bay.
It was a particularly meaningful morning for the students and SLC members as they did their part to raise awareness about autism!
