Four of our Secondary 2 and 3 History students took part in the nationwide MOE History Challenge held at the National University of Singapore. The challenge consisted of a one-hour selection test on a range of Historical Issues, such as the rise of authoritarian leaders and the impact of their regimes. This was followed by a sharing session on "The Colonial Origins of Nation-Building" hosted by Dr Ho Chi Tim, a professor in the NUS History Department. Through the sharing, our students gained new insights on the impact of our colonial history on policies in Singapore and Malaysia. Our students also chatted with Dr Ho to clear any doubts they had about the topic. All in all, all four students were happy and grateful for the chance to represent Pathlight School for the nationwide challenge and even expressed that they would like to participate in the History Challenge again next year!
