As part of the School’s efforts to engage students in Applied Learning beyond the classroom, our Secondary 3 students participated in a chemistry workshop, “Crime Lab”, at the Singapore Science Centre on 16 October 2017.
At the workshop, students learned the basics of analysing physical evidence from crime scenes, including precipitation, measurement of pH and hair analysis using a microscope. They then applied their deductive, reasoning and logical thinking skills to evaluate the evidence and make logical conclusions. Overall, this workshop was an enriching experience for our students, as they gained a greater appreciation of chemistry in the real-world context.
