Autism Resource Centre (ARC) , Autism Association (AAS), Rainbow Centre (RC) and St Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) and Duke-NUS Medical School have organized a series of celebration events for World Autism Awareness Singapore 2015.
A part of these celebration events, an Autism Seminar for Caregivers and Professionals was held on 27 April 2015 in Pathlight School.
More than 200 caregivers and professionals attended the seminar on “Living with Autism”. Some seminar participants came all the way from Malaysia.
The seminar features updates on Diagnosis, Early Intervention, Transition to Post-Secondary Education, Services for Adults and Planning for Adulthood - A Caregviers’ Checklist. These updates were delivered by 6 professionals in their respective expertise areas. The presenters were able to address many queries from the audience
during the question and answer session. During the seminar many caregivers signed up to attend follow-up workshops to design Care Plans for their children. It was an evening of great learning for all participants.
