15 students from the Vocational Track Senior Level went on their first Overseas Learning Trip to Perth from 3 to 6 March 2015. The team was led by Pathlight’s Vice-Principal, Ms Loy Sheau Mei and accompanied by class coaches and therapists. This learning trip served as an opportunity to expose students to a different culture, and also allowed them to experience independent living in a foreign country away from the comfort of their home.
Other than practising life skills, the students also had an enjoyable time visiting places of interest such as the Dolphin Discovery Centre, Underwater Sea Aquarium and participating in activities like building bush-huts with their peers. Through this learning trip, students attempted activities – many which pushed them beyond their comfort zones. The trip was a fun, enriching and memorable one for the students and it definitely strengthened the bond amongst them.
