Students from the Primary two cohort went to the Singapore Science Centre on 24 & 25 July 2014 as part of their Discovery Learning Journey. The students were taken on a guided trail in the Eco Garden. They were exposed to insects and plants found in the common garden and also had the chance to touch and feel creatures such as the Hissing cockroaches and earthworms.
The students were also excited to view newly hatched chicks and enjoyed their climb up the tree house for a bird eye's view of the garden's living fauna.
The learning journey tied in with the discovery syllabus taught in term 2 and 3 on plants and life cycles respectively. This further reinforced students' knowledge on these topics through experiential learning. The students were fascinated by the living garden creatures as well as the intriguing stimulations within the Science Centre. It was a fun yet meaningful outing for the students!
