Overseas Service Learning Trip to Beijing, China

As part of our holistic education to expose Pathlighters to an overseas community service learning trip, a total of 27 Primary 6 students went to Beijing, China. They were accompanied by their teachers.

Our students and staff stayed in Hope Foster Home, a home which cares for abandoned babies who are physically disabled. Apart from interacting with the toddlers and helping to maintain the cleanliness of the home, they also got to experience a different culture in another country. They had a memorable time visiting various historical landmarks in China, such as the Great Wall of China, Tian An Men Square, and Beijing World Park.

At the end of the trip, the students not only gained important knowledge about the culture and history of China, but they also learnt to adapt to a different way of life. More importantly, as part of the whole school focus on Service Learning, they learnt to give back to the community by helping the children in Hope Foster Home.
